An ABS warning does not, by itself, identify a failed control module. The repair should match the confirmed fault.
Repair the original unit
Selected internal electronic faults may be repairable when the unit is suitable for testing and the repair can be verified.

Replace what cannot be repaired
A confirmed pump, hydraulic, or unserviceable controller fault needs a part-specific quotation. These are different purchases.

Describe the warning and the pedal
ABS helps prevent wheel lock during braking. A warning can mean that anti-lock or related stability functions are unavailable, even when the car still slows down.
Red brake warning or changed braking?
Stop safely and arrange recovery if the pedal sinks, braking is reduced, fluid is leaking, or the vehicle instructs you to stop. Do not road-test the fault yourself.
Amber ABS warning only?
Follow the vehicle’s displayed instructions and owner’s manual, and contact us promptly. A normal-feeling pedal does not prove that ABS is available. Tell us about any additional DSC or brake warnings.

Sensor faults that resemble module failure
A wheel-speed complaint can involve the sensor, its wiring, the encoder or reluctor, or wheel-bearing condition. Replacing the sensor alone may leave the original fault unresolved.
Tell us if the warning started after bearing, tire, suspension, battery, or brake work. That history can help select the next check.
A brake-pad wear sensor is a different component from an ABS wheel-speed sensor. Grinding, a worn-pad message, or disc vibration may need BMW brake service.
Know which assembly is being quoted
Controller, pump, or hydraulic unit?
“ABS module” is often used for several related components. Ask for the exact part description so two quotations can be compared fairly.
Electronic controller
Processes information and controls the system. Original-unit repair depends on the internal fault, physical condition, and whether appropriate testing is available.
Pump motor
A motor-related fault needs its supply and operation checked. Separate motor work is application-dependent and does not automatically require every hydraulic component.
Hydraulic assembly
Contains fluid-control components. Hydraulic damage or an unserviceable assembly may require replacement and the specified bleeding procedure.
ABS and DSC are closely related

Match the vehicle before buying
Use the VIN, production date, original part number, hardware version, and fitted braking equipment. The same model range can use different units. A used unit that plugs in is not automatically compatible or ready to operate.
Compare original-unit repair with a suitable new or documented remanufactured replacement where available. A used unit needs its condition, compatibility, setup requirements, and warranty checked. Severe corrosion, damage, or an unsupported repair may rule out reuse.

Does an ABS light mean the module has failed?

Can my original ABS module be repaired?
Some internal electronic faults are repairable. The exact unit, physical damage, available repair method, and ability to verify the result determine suitability. Agree the assessment charge and replacement alternative before removal.
Will a replacement ABS module need coding?
A replacement may require programming, coding, initialization, or calibration for the fitted system. Confirm these tasks in the quote. Reusing a repaired original unit does not remove the need for post-repair checks.
Does ABS module work always require brake bleeding?
It depends on whether the hydraulic circuit is opened and on the applicable repair procedure. Electronic-only work and removal of a complete hydraulic assembly have different requirements.
What does the ABS scan price include?
The basic scan starts from AED 150 for fault-code reading and a report. It is not unlimited diagnosis. Agree any additional electrical, hydraulic, or intermittent-fault testing, VAT, and diagnostic credit before work starts.
