Air blows warm
Check refrigerant charge, leakage and system operation. A recharge is appropriate only after the findings establish why cooling is weak and whether a repair is needed.
BMW Garage · Al Quoz 4, Dubai
Restore cooling and airflow with an AC inspection matched to the complaint. We can assess refrigerant loss, airflow problems and component faults, then explain the repair and fitted quote before work begins.

Find the right repair
Check refrigerant charge, leakage and system operation. A recharge is appropriate only after the findings establish why cooling is weak and whether a repair is needed.
Inspect the cabin filter, blower operation and air distribution. A strong fan noise with little air at the vents needs different checks from a fan that does not run.
Compare the confirmed compressor, condenser or electrical repair with a complete fitted quote. Include the related refrigerant work and final testing required for that job.
Tell us whether the problem is constant, appears at idle, affects one side or started after other work. You can book an assessment without choosing a replacement component.
Budget for the actual task
These estimates are retained from our existing AC service listing. They are planning ranges, not newly confirmed offers. The quote should identify the faulty component, parts condition, labor and related refrigerant work before you approve a repair.
| Service and scope to confirm | Estimated price |
|---|---|
| Initial AC inspection Assessment of the reported cooling or airflow complaint. Repairs and refrigerant are additional. | From AED 150 Diagnosis only |
| Leak testing and refrigerant service Eligible system and required refrigerant quantity. Replacement of a leaking component is separate. | AED 350–700 |
| Condenser replacement Confirm the condenser specification, fitting, seals and related refrigerant service in the written total. | AED 950–2,100 |
| Compressor repair or replacement Eligible repair or replacement route; part condition, fitting and system preparation need a job-specific quote. | AED 1,200–2,800 |
| AC electrical diagnosis and repair Testing and agreed repair within the AC circuit. Major modules and unrelated electrical faults are separate. | AED 300–850 |
| Cabin-filter service Inspect and quote the correct filter arrangement; replacement parts and access depend on the vehicle. | AED 250–600 |
The inherited figures did not specify VAT, so confirm the VAT-inclusive total. They also do not establish that every compressor or condenser range includes every possible related part. Ask for one fitted quotation covering the actual job. Diagnosis is not automatically credited against a repair unless that is agreed.

Warm air and refrigerant loss
A refrigerant service can restore the correct charge when that is the appropriate work. If refrigerant has escaped through a failed component or connection, adding more without addressing the cause can leave you paying for the same symptom again.
The assessment should consider the refrigerant specification and charge quantity for the vehicle, operating behavior and evidence of leakage. The system label and applicable service data matter; a fixed amount of “AC gas” should not be assumed suitable for every model.
The condenser sits in a position where external damage and restricted airflow can affect performance. A confirmed condenser leak needs a quote for the correct part and the related work. Other leakage points require their own repair rather than automatically replacing the condenser.
Ask what the leak test found, what repair is proposed and how the finished system will be checked. If the source is intermittent or difficult to access, agree the next testing stage and its charge before authorizing further dismantling.
Describe the symptom
The way the fault behaves helps direct the inspection. Observations are useful; there is no need to attempt refrigerant work or dismantle the dashboard before your visit.
Tell us whether cooling improves once the car is moving. The inspection can compare operation under the conditions you describe, including airflow through the heat exchangers and the AC system’s response. This symptom alone does not identify a compressor fault.
Report which vents are affected and whether changing the temperature settings alters the result. Air distribution, temperature control and the refrigeration system can require different tests. Recharging is not automatically the correct first repair.
Note whether the problem follows a long drive, heat soak or a particular control setting. Intermittent faults may need more time than an initial inspection. Confirm how additional diagnostic time will be approved if the complaint does not appear immediately.
A smell or damp area needs a focused inspection of the relevant cabin and HVAC components. Vent treatment, filter replacement and correction of a drainage or water-entry issue are different jobs. Agree the cause and proposed work before selecting a cleaning package.

Weak airflow
A restricted cabin filter can reduce airflow, but a filter replacement cannot repair a failed blower motor or a control fault. Inspecting the filter and checking fan response helps separate an ordinary maintenance item from a repair.
If the fan does not run, works only intermittently or responds incorrectly to speed changes, blower-motor diagnosis should include the relevant power supply and control checks. Replacing the motor without testing its circuit can leave the original problem unresolved.
The correct filter arrangement may use one element or a set, depending on the car. Ask which parts are included and whether the quoted amount covers their fitting. A picture of a generic filter is not a substitute for confirming the vehicle application.
Air that comes from the wrong vents or does not respond to temperature selection may need air-distribution testing. Explain which setting fails and whether both sides behave the same way. This information helps keep the inspection focused on the function you want restored.

Repair or replacement
A compressor repair needs evidence that the compressor or its control is responsible. Low cooling performance can have other causes, so ask for the findings that support replacement and whether a repairable external fault has been identified.
Confirm whether the proposed assembly is new, reconditioned or used, and what applicable warranty covers. A price at the low end of an inherited repair range should not be treated as the cost of a new original compressor for every BMW.
The related system work depends on the failure. Contamination can require additional preparation or replacement of affected components according to the applicable procedure. Routine cleaning, internal system flushing and cabin sanitization are separate operations with different purposes.
Refrigerant and compressor lubricant must suit the system. Electrically driven compressors used in some vehicles need particular care over fluid compatibility and service procedures. Give us the exact hybrid or electric model when booking so the workshop can confirm the work and equipment required.
From complaint to collection
Explain the temperature, airflow and conditions you experience. The initial assessment should relate to that complaint, with any further testing allowance agreed if the fault is intermittent.
Review the findings before parts are ordered. For electrical faults, confirm whether the issue is within the AC system or requires a wider electrical investigation. Keep unrelated work outside the AC quote unless separately approved.
Identify the component, condition and quantity, then include fitting, required refrigerant work, sealing parts and finishing checks. Ask which diagnosis charges remain payable and confirm the VAT-inclusive amount.
After repair, the checks should match the complaint: cooling operation, airflow or control response as relevant. Discuss any remaining limitation before collection and keep the findings and parts details with the invoice.
A filter service and a major component replacement need different appointment lengths. Parts availability, access and leak diagnosis can affect the schedule. Ask when the initial findings will be available and confirm collection after the repair scope is agreed.
Share any recent recharge, previous component replacement or repeated loss of cooling. An earlier invoice can identify the refrigerant or parts used. That history is especially useful when the same complaint has returned after a previous repair.
Three example quotations
These are illustrative estimates for eligible vehicles, not invoices from customer jobs. Each example assumes the named fitted work and its finishing check. Confirm the final scope and VAT-inclusive price; no separate diagnosis credit is assumed.
Example allowance for agreed leak testing and the correct refrigerant service where no replacement component is needed.
A discovered leak repair, unusual refrigerant requirement or additional fault changes the quote. Confirm VAT treatment.
Illustrative allowance for one compatible condenser, fitting, required seals, refrigerant service and an operating check.
Assumes straightforward access and no further damaged components. Confirm part make, condition and VAT treatment.
Illustrative allowance for an eligible replacement compressor, fitting and the related fluid service and operation check.
Part condition must be agreed. Contamination-related parts or additional preparation are separate; confirm VAT treatment.
Common questions
Cooling performance, repair choices and costs depend on the actual fault.
The initial AC inspection starts from an estimated AED 150. The inherited planning ranges include AED 350–700 for leak testing and refrigerant service, AED 950–2,100 for condenser replacement and AED 1,200–2,800 for eligible compressor work. The actual repair and VAT-inclusive total need confirmation after the vehicle and findings are known.
No. Refrigerant charge is one possible cause, alongside leakage, component operation and control issues. The inspection should establish the cause before a recharge or replacement is approved. If a leak needs repair, refrigerant service alone does not address that fault.
A restricted filter can reduce airflow. Replacing it may help when that is the problem, but it does not repair a refrigeration fault or a failed blower circuit. Tell us whether the air is weak, warm or both so the assessment covers the right system.
Some faults may allow a selective repair; others need a compatible replacement assembly. The decision depends on the diagnosed failure, parts availability and the condition of the wider system. Compare the proposed work, part condition, related fluid service and applicable warranty before approval.
No. Refrigerant servicing establishes the correct charge using the applicable procedure. Internal flushing is a separate operation considered when the system condition and repair procedure require it. Cabin sanitization is different again. Ask why each proposed operation is needed and what its price covers.
Share the exact model and complaint when booking so the workshop can confirm the relevant system and equipment requirements. Some vehicles use electrically driven compressors with specific lubricant and service requirements. The generic belt-driven compressor example should not be assumed to describe every hybrid or electric application.
The required time depends on the fault, access and parts availability. An initial cooling assessment may lead to a straightforward service or to further leak and component testing. Ask for the assessment allowance first and confirm the repair schedule after the findings and quote are agreed.
Tell us your model, what the air feels like and when the problem appears. Arrange an assessment at our Al Quoz 4 workshop and confirm your preferred appointment time.
