Recognize the problem
Repeated top-ups, coolant residue or rising temperature deserve inspection. These symptoms do not prove that the radiator needs replacing.
01 · Losing coolant
Look for fresh leakage at the core, tank seams, drain point and hose connections. Coolant can run along an undertray, so the puddle location may not identify the failed part.
02 · Running too hot
Temperature problems can come from restricted coolant circulation, a thermostat or pump fault, trapped air, or a fan that is not moving enough air. An external obstruction can also reduce heat rejection.
Pull over safely, switch off and arrange assistance. Do not open the hot coolant reservoir or restart the engine to demonstrate the problem. A top-up does not make an overheating BMW safe to drive. Call us with your location.
Choose the work that solves the fault
A new radiator is appropriate when the assembly is damaged or cannot deliver the required cooling performance. It should not be a substitute for finding the actual fault.
If the leak source is still unknown, our BMW coolant leak service explains the broader inspection options.
01
Replace a failed accessible hose, seal or connector when its mating surface and radiator neck remain sound. A cracked plastic neck generally needs more than a new O-ring.
02
Match the replacement to the vehicle and cooling circuit, remove the failed unit, renew necessary seals, refill and bleed, then check for leakage and stable operation.
03
Quote a confirmed pump, thermostat, fan or expansion-tank problem separately. Flushing may be appropriate for contamination, but it cannot repair a cracked tank or guarantee removal of an internal blockage.
Know what your quote covers
Budget around AED 1,200–2,800 for selected standard-fit radiator replacements. These VAT-inclusive estimates help you plan. Your model, radiator choice and the work needed determine the final quote.
| Work | Estimated AED incl. VAT | What the estimate includes |
|---|---|---|
| Selected standard-fit replacement | AED 1,200–2,800 | Replacement radiator, fitting, required coolant refill, bleeding and post-installation leak checks. |
| Higher-cost or complex fitment | Individual quote | Genuine-part preferences, multiple cooling circuits, special assemblies or substantial access work can exceed the guide range. |
| Accessible single-hose replacement | AED 350–600 | A standard accessible hose or seal repair, fitting, routine coolant top-up and a repaired-connection leak check. Extensive coolant loss or damaged mating parts cost extra. |
| Initial inspection | Free | Initial assessment. Pressure testing, extended diagnostics or dismantling are agreed separately where required. |
All estimates on this page include VAT. Replacement estimates cover the matched radiator, fitting, required seals, specified coolant refill, bleeding and final leak checks. Extended diagnosis, a full contamination flush, other failed components and recovery are separate. We explain additional charges before work starts.
Send your model, year and the leak or warning you have noticed. We will explain the radiator option, complete price and earliest available appointment. No need to identify the part yourself.

The right radiator matters
The badge and model year alone may not identify the correct radiator. We check the vehicle details and, when needed, the VIN, build date and fitted assembly before ordering.
We recommend genuine BMW parts. If you want an alternative, we can discuss a named manufacturer and suitable application before ordering. Availability and warranty vary by part; we identify both in your quotation.
Avoid an incomplete repair
Related parts should be checked and quoted according to their condition. Replacing the radiator does not automatically require replacing the entire cooling system.
01
Inspect quick connectors, O-rings, hose necks and clamps for leakage or damage. Renew disturbed seals and specified single-use hardware where required. Explain brittle connections before dismantling.
02
Check the expansion tank and cap when the findings justify it. A leaking tank or faulty cap is a separate fault, not a reason to assume the radiator core has failed.
03
Check fan operation, mounting rubbers and surrounding airflow guides. A correctly installed radiator still needs effective airflow, and damaged mounts can strain the replacement.
04
Investigate circulation or temperature-control faults when indicated. A confirmed pump fault has its own BMW water-pump repair options. Agree extra parts and labor separately, accounting for shared access work.
05
Use the specified coolant for the vehicle, with the appropriate concentration and filling procedure. Color alone is not a specification. Oil contamination or repeated overheating needs further assessment.
From inspection to handover
A pressure test helps locate leaks. It does not, by itself, prove that coolant flows correctly or that the radiator can remove enough heat. The inspection combines the checks relevant to the complaint.
Allow roughly half a working day for many straightforward replacements once the correct part is available. Diagnosis, cooling-down time, access, extra faults or special-order parts can extend the booking.

Three typical job estimates
Typical job estimates, including VAT, for three different repair needs. Timing assumes parts are available and no additional damage is found.
Concern: Fresh coolant at a radiator tank seam.
Proposed work: Confirm the source, fit a matched replacement radiator, renew required seals, refill and bleed, then repeat leak checks.
Estimate: AED 1,500–2,100
Likely timing: 4–6 workshop hours after approval. Assumes serviceable hoses, pump and thermostat.
Concern: Poor heat rejection after other circulation and airflow faults have been assessed.
Proposed work: Replace a confirmed restricted radiator, refill with specified coolant and verify operating temperature and fan response.
Estimate: AED 1,800–2,600
Likely timing: One working day including assessment. Additional contamination treatment is quoted separately.
Concern: Coolant loss from an accessible hose connection, with the radiator itself intact.
Proposed work: Replace the affected hose assembly or specified seal as appropriate, restore coolant level and test the connection.
Estimate: AED 350–600
Likely timing: 1–3 workshop hours. Includes routine coolant top-up and a connection leak check. Extensive coolant loss or damaged mating parts are extra.
These are estimated repair scenarios. Your quotation confirms the selected parts, total, any separately charged diagnosis and the applicable parts and labor coverage.
Fitment and cooling circuits
E-, F- and G-generation vehicles can use different radiator assemblies, connections and access arrangements. Even within one generation, the engine and build specification can change the correct part. Compare quotes for the same fitment.
An X1, X5 or M model may have a different cooling package and additional heat exchangers. Identify the failed unit before ordering. A larger or reinforced radiator is not automatically the appropriate replacement.
Some BMWs have a separate low-temperature cooling circuit as well as engine cooling. The quotation should name the circuit and component being repaired so an auxiliary heat exchanger is not confused with the main radiator.
Thermal-management circuits can serve different components. Tell us the model and warning; the team can request further vehicle details. These vehicles need a system-specific assessment rather than a conventional engine-radiator price assumption.

Before you book
Practical answers about scope, repair choices and timing.
Selected standard-fit replacements are estimated at AED 1,200–2,800 including VAT, fitting, required coolant refill, bleeding and final leak checks. Genuine-part choices and complex cooling assemblies can cost more. Send your model and year for a fitted quotation.
The initial assessment is free. Pressure testing, extended diagnosis or dismantling may carry a fee. We explain that fee and any repair-credit arrangement before paid work begins.
A hose, seal or connection fault may allow a localized repair if the radiator remains sound. Cracked tanks, damaged necks or a failed core often favor replacement. We explain the condition and suitable options before quoting; a coolant leak does not automatically require a radiator.
Yes. The AED 1,200–2,800 guide for selected standard-fit replacements includes the radiator, fitting, required seals, coolant refill, bleeding, leak checks and VAT. Separate faults, extended diagnosis and contamination treatment are quoted before approval.
Only when the findings, agreed preventive work or vehicle procedure justify it. The thermostat, pump, expansion tank and fan are not automatically included. We explain separately quoted work and any shared access labor.
A flush may help remove appropriate contamination, but it cannot repair a cracked assembly and may not restore a restricted core. First establish the reason for poor cooling. Replacing a radiator without addressing ongoing contamination can leave the original problem unresolved.
Do not use a sealant as a substitute for inspection. It can complicate cooling-system assessment and may affect narrow passages. Tell the workshop if any additive has already been used, and arrange assistance if the vehicle is overheating or losing coolant rapidly.
Many straightforward replacements can be planned within half a working day once the part is available. Diagnosis, engine cooling-down time, additional repairs and special-order parts can extend this. Confirm a booking and parts availability before relying on same-day collection.
Coverage can differ by radiator brand and supplier. We set out the applicable parts and labor terms, duration and exclusions in your quotation before fitting. Contact the workshop with your invoice if a concern returns so we can arrange a recheck.
Send your BMW model and year plus a short description of the leak or warning. A photograph can help if it is safe to take. You do not need to diagnose the fault. We may request the VIN to verify the replacement part.
