Shake while slowing down
Brake judder can involve disc thickness variation, runout, hub condition or other worn components. Vibration alone does not confirm a warped rotor.
Front and rear brake discs
Shaking when you brake, grinding or worn discs? Get front or rear BMW brake rotor replacement in Al Quoz 4, Dubai. We check the cause and quote the axle that needs work.
Compare genuine BMW and suitable aftermarket discs with pads, labor and any required sensor clearly listed. Selected standard 3 Series front-axle jobs are estimated at AED 1,550–2,450 with discs, pads and one required sensor, including VAT. Send your model, year and symptom to start.

Discs per axle pair.
Front and rear are assessed separately.
What are you noticing?
Brake judder can involve disc thickness variation, runout, hub condition or other worn components. Vibration alone does not confirm a warped rotor.
Worn pads can damage the disc surface. Both sides of the rotor and the inner and outer pads need inspection, including caliper movement.
A pad-wear alert is not a rotor-thickness reading. A warning prompts inspection; measurements decide whether the discs can remain in service.
Measure before replacement
Measure the swept braking surface at several positions, away from the unworn edge. Compare the lowest reading with the minimum for that exact disc. There is no single minimum thickness for every BMW.
Where vibration is reported, check lateral runout and thickness variation as appropriate. Dirt at the hub, bearing play or a sticking caliper can undermine new discs if left unresolved.
Inspect inner and outer faces for significant scoring, cracking, corrosion and heat damage. Assess both discs on the axle. A visible outer lip or a scan result alone is not the complete decision.
Replace or resurface? Replace discs at or below the applicable wear limit, or with damage that makes them unserviceable. Resurfacing is only an option if the specific manufacturer procedure allows it and sufficient thickness remains afterward. It is not a way to save a cracked or undersized disc. Replacement is quoted as a matched axle pair.
Compare complete fitted prices
AED estimates below are for two discs on the stated axle, fitted, including 5% VAT. They include the selected replacement discs, normal removal and installation, hub preparation and basic checks. Pads and wear sensors are additional and should be listed in the complete quotation.
| BMW application | Front pair fitted | Rear pair fitted |
|---|---|---|
| Selected 3 Series F30 / G20 standard brakesBrake option and disc size must be confirmed. | AED 950–1,350 | AED 850–1,200 |
| Selected 5 Series G30 standard brakesLarger brake options can cost more. | AED 1,250–1,700 | AED 1,000–1,450 |
| M Sport, M models and large SUV packagesTwo-piece construction and larger sizes change parts cost. | Vehicle-specific quote | Vehicle-specific quote |
| Carbon-ceramic brakesSeparate inspection and replacement specification. | Vehicle-specific quote | Vehicle-specific quote |
These planning totals combine the disc-pair prices above with the published pad and sensor allowances. They include two discs, one axle pad set, one required wear sensor, fitting and 5% VAT. They are not fixed offers or a guarantee that every parts brand fits the range. Your written quote names the parts and counts shared fitting labor only once.
| Standard brake application | Front axle complete | Rear axle complete |
|---|---|---|
| Selected 3 Series F30 / G20 | AED 1,550–2,450 | AED 1,450–2,300 |
| Selected 5 Series G30 | AED 1,850–2,800 | AED 1,600–2,550 |
If no sensor is required, its charge is removed from the final quote. Genuine BMW, larger performance brakes, caliper repairs and additional diagnosis can cost more. The ranges do not identify a guaranteed in-stock brand.
The complete axle estimates above already include an allowance of AED 450–800 for pads and fitting during disc work, plus AED 150–300 for one required sensor. Do not add these amounts again. These VAT-inclusive allowances are additional only when comparing against the disc-pair-only table.
Caliper repairs, wheel bearings, damaged hubs, seized hardware, hydraulic faults, brake fluid service and extended vibration diagnosis. Performance packages and genuine parts can exceed these ranges. Prices are planning estimates, not a fixed tariff.
Ask for one complete axle price with the disc brand, pad set, sensor requirement and labor clearly listed.

Discs, pads and sensors
Use the correct left/right application where directional parts are specified. Replacing the front axle does not automatically require replacing the rear.
Include a fresh compatible axle pad set when replacing discs. Worn pads can carry an uneven contact pattern onto the new surface. Conversely, pads can sometimes be replaced while serviceable discs remain.
Include replacement if the sensor has been triggered, damaged, or the specified procedure requires it. It monitors pad wear, not disc thickness; there is not necessarily one sensor at each wheel.
A sticking caliper or damaged hub needs its own explanation and approval. A fluid change or ABS repair is not automatically part of every rotor job.
If the discs pass inspection and only the pads are worn, see our BMW brake pad replacement service.
Genuine BMW or aftermarket discs
| Parts choice | Why consider it? | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Genuine BMW discs | BMW-branded parts selected for the actual brake option. Useful when retaining the original specification is your priority. | Request the part number and complete fitted total. |
| Named aftermarket discs | A correctly specified option from manufacturers such as ATE, Brembo or Zimmermann may lower the cost. Availability varies. | Compare exact application, construction, coating, pad compatibility and written cover. A brand name alone does not prove fitment. |
| Performance or special construction | Two-piece, drilled and slotted discs must suit the caliper and intended use. Carbon-ceramic systems need their own procedures. | Do not assume a cosmetic M Sport package identifies the brake system or that a slotted disc is automatically an upgrade. |
Front and rear disc diameter, thickness, offset and caliper compatibility can differ within the same model year. We can request the VIN or fitted brake details after your initial inquiry. You do not need to identify the brake option yourself.
Inspection to collection
Record axle measurements and check pads, calipers and the reported symptom. Agree any chargeable diagnosis before proceeding.
Confirm the paired discs, pad set, sensor and hardware. Additional repairs remain separate until approved.
Prepare mating surfaces, install the correct components and use specified fastener procedures. Rear parking-brake service procedures apply where required.
Verify pedal operation and relevant service resets, then perform appropriate brake checks. Explain the supplied parts’ bedding-in guidance and when to return for review.

Allow roughly 2–4 hours for straightforward work on one axle after inspection and parts availability. Both axles, seized fittings or additional faults may take longer. Follow the bedding-in instructions provided for the fitted parts; any renewed judder, pulling or abnormal pedal feel needs assessment.
Three complete cost scenarios
These are hypothetical estimates, not completed customer jobs. Totals include 5% VAT. They assume the stated standard brake package, selected compatible parts and serviceable calipers and hubs. Timing begins once the correct parts are available.

One model can have several brake packages
A standard 3 Series or 5 Series quote may not cover an optional larger brake package. We check the fitted calipers and disc dimensions before ordering. If your car has been modified, mention it when you contact us; you do not need to know the part number.
M compound iron discs and carbon-ceramic discs need separate pricing and assessment. Carbon-ceramic condition cannot be judged using only an iron-disc thickness check. We establish the fitted system before recommending replacement, with no assumption that all M cars use the same discs.
Vehicle weight, brake options and use affect wear. Regenerative braking does not remove the need to inspect friction brakes; corrosion and uneven contact can still matter. Rear parking-brake arrangements also vary.

Before you book
For selected standard 3 Series brakes, allow AED 1,550–2,450 for a front axle or AED 1,450–2,300 for a rear axle with two discs, pads, one required sensor and fitting, including VAT. Disc-pair-only estimates start at AED 950 front and AED 850 rear. These are planning ranges; the fitted brake package and parts choice determine your written quote.
Yes, if inspection shows the rear discs remain serviceable. Replace the left and right discs as a matched pair on the affected axle. All four discs do not need replacement simply because one axle is worn.
New compatible pads should be included with new discs. If only pads are being replaced, the existing discs may remain when measurements and condition are acceptable. A pad-wear warning alone is not a reason to order new rotors.
No. The pad-wear sensor and service display do not provide a direct measurement of disc thickness. Disc wear requires a physical check. Include a replacement sensor when triggered, damaged or required by the applicable repair procedure.
Only if the specific disc and manufacturer procedure allow it and the finished disc will remain within the permitted specification. Cracked, severely damaged or undersized discs need replacement. Carbon-ceramic brakes require a separate assessment.
Only if the discs are the confirmed cause. Hub runout, bearing play, tire or suspension problems and caliper faults can also contribute. Tell us when the vibration occurs so inspection can target the cause before parts are approved.
A straightforward axle job may take 2–4 hours after inspection with parts available. Both axles, seized fittings or additional faults can extend the visit. We confirm the expected collection time after checking the car and parts availability.
Coverage depends on the parts supplied and the work approved. Your written quote should state the duration, parts and workmanship coverage, exclusions and follow-up process. Normal wear is different from a defective part or fitting issue. Report renewed vibration, pulling or abnormal pedal feel promptly so the cause can be checked.
Start with your BMW model, year and symptom, or the axle you were advised to replace. We can request the VIN later for precise fitment. If braking is reduced, tell us before traveling so recovery can be discussed.
Measure the discs. Price the complete job.
Tell us the model, year and what happens when you brake. We will arrange the inspection, explain any diagnostic charge and quote the appropriate axle with your parts options. Approve the written total before replacement begins.
